8 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (26 Jan)

4. Sports Stuff... But Over

Britt Baker
AEW

Much of the content in Britt Baker's promo was lost on your writer, whose entire library of NFL knowledge could be written on the back of a postage stamp, but it was well-performed, over, and befitting of Baker's gloating character.

Blowing up her Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine covers and the trio of awards is exactly the kind of thing she'd do on live television. That this segment happened in Cleveland was spot on, too, as this is one of the few cities that'll still give her a reliable heel crowd reaction. She leaned into that here by ripping Baker Mayfield and the Browns, dissing the rest of the division, and coming off as composed and confident as she ever has.

Stronger direction would have elevated this further up the list. This wasn't used to further any ongoing storylines, with no feud partner emerging, and the disappearance of Rebel and Jamie Hayter from Britt's side remains unexplained. Either way, Britt was tremendous, justifying those recent awards.
