Rich Swann and Kenny Omega’s title vs. title bout at Rebellion is already a legitimate history-making match, but what furthered this story is that other members of the IMPACT roster made predictions for the bout – the majority, of course, chose Swann to win.
On paper, it may seem a tad showboaty, to have your entire roster predict that your World Champion is going to defeat someone regarded as the greatest professional wrestler of this generation. It was only The Good Brothers who stated that Kenny Omega was going to be crowned the new IMPACT World Champion, and even then they still put over Rich Swann.
In reality, though, it made the match seem bigger than it already is. To have the rest of your roster so invested in what is arguably your company’s most important match to date, is tremendous booking. Everyone from James Storm to Willie Mack to Deonna Purrazzo put their predictions in; hence why we should care about the match.
