8 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (6 July)

5. ROH Outta Nowhere!

That the show's announcement manifested with minimal hype set the ROH Death Before Dishonor cycle off to a cold start, but the 23 July pay-per-view has suddenly emerged as a sleeper banger.

This is largely down to last night. FTR challenged The Briscoes to a rematch of their Match of the Year contender from Supercard of Honor, while it was announced that Wheeler Yuta would defend his Pure Championship against Daniel Garcia in a rematch of the best indie bout of 2021. Elsewhere, the Rampage spoilers (they're out there if you want them) added extra spice.

Immediately, this looks like a must-watch show. It felt like the opposite heading into last night's Dynamite, so while a longer, more considerate build would have been optimal, the course correction is very welcome.

Also, more FTR vs. Briscoes.

Fantastic.
