8 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Dec 8)

2. This Main Event

An oddball pairing, but Moose and Chris Bey made for a delightful duo in last night's main event.

The pair took on Willie Mack and Rich Swann, ahead of Bey challenging for Swann's World Championship at Final Resolution. What made this match so perfect was the differing styles of offence. Bey and Swann started proceedings off in a beautiful display of athleticism, before Moose and Mack came in, and traded blows. That 'Mr. Impact Wrestling' yanked the former X Division Champion off the mat like it was nothing was superb.

It was Chris Bey who shone brightest here. 'The Ultimate Finesser' brought out some unique reversals throughout the contest that allowed him to stay one step ahead of his opponents, even if he did find himself near enough knocked silly from a 'Chocolate Thunder' forearm. That's where Willie Mack and Rich Swann went wrong. Mack found himself speared and subsequently beaten to a pulp by Moose, who was taken care of by Swann, allowing Bey to sneak on top of Willie for the win.

The match was perfect. It didn't feel too long or too short, everyone got a chance to show they bring something to the table, and the right man took the fall. Neither Swann nor Bey could afford to take the pin with an anticipated clash just around the corner, and Moose is far too protected right now. As for Mack? At the time of writing, he's just there. Having him be convincingly pinned doesn't harm him at all. A terrific end to the in-ring portion of the show.
