8 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Oct 7)

Yes, that is FTR superimposed onto hotdog costumes.

No, you were not watching WWE Raw last night.

The segment between Best Friends and FTR was lame, unfunny, Stamford-style b*llocks that belongs on a cutting room floor wherever Vince McMahon is producing shows at the moment. This is Jacksonville, not Orlando, and while there are plenty of WWE-style elements AEW could borrow to bolster their product, low comedy isn't one of them. Whoever okayed this during the production process should have nipped it in the bud.

It was spawned from Orange Cassidy's "weenies" line, of course. Trent unpacked the joke while Chuck Taylor stood around wearing a face suggesting he knew how cringe-worthy the material was, before Best Friends let FTR know they'd be facing them next week.

Hopefully the match compensates for a wack segment the likes of which your writer never wants to see on Dynamite again - and if the idea was to present this as knowingly bad, it didn't work.
