8 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (Jan 9 - Review)
6. Reed As Mercenary
Setting aside Bronson Reed’s disappointing debut on the final Raw of 2022, you’d be forgiven if you were worried that he’d simply become the latest sidekick to the Miz in the aftermath of that main roster bow.
But Reed has set himself apart from the Awesome One, seemingly only caring about being paid for his actions. Bronson made this abundantly clear after Miz interrupted his interview to talk about how they have each other’s back. Reed shot back that there was no “us” with the two of them, and that if Miz wanted something from him, he would need to pay him first.
Casting the large Reed as a hired gun is a nice little deal and hopefully keeps him from falling into Miz’s orbit. It also could make for an interesting development as the weeks progress. Maybe he’s paid off by a babyface one week to really sell that it’s the almighty dollar that controls him, not some ethos.
That would more or less make him a modern-day, one-man APA, wouldn’t it?
