8 Ups & 5 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Hardcore Justice 2021

1. Plodding Encounter

Had Shera vs. Hernandez been a big hoss showdown, it would have been great. They started off that way in fairness, trading shoulder tackles and the like, but they soon relied far too much on the chairs-are-legal gimmick.

Near enough every spot in the match had a chair involved, which at least hid the pair’s inability to naturally flow a match together. Even a superplex onto a pile of chairs, typically a neat visual in this sort of match, did nothing to help this slog of an encounter.

Hernandez was back on his feet in about a minute after the stiff bump. He didn’t sell it at all, instead choosing to hit Shera with a chair that had no impact.

The match concluded with Rohit Raju turning on Hernandez by hitting him with a chair, reuniting with Shera, and handing ‘The Indian Lion’ a pinfall victory over an IMPACT legend. For f*ck sake. We never needed this Desi Hit Squad reunion before, and we certainly don’t need another one. Rohit has been ruined again, frustrating your writer far more than he’d like to admit.
