8 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 20)
2. Profits Look Strong
The Street Profits have not been a particularly well-booked tag team in recent months, despite being the longest-reigning Raw Tag Team Champions in the brand’s history. They’ve held the titles since March but have defended them just once since early April. Their vignette rivalry with the Viking Raiders fizzled with a disappointing tag title match last month.
But Monday night, the Profits returned to Raw to issue a receipt to Andrade and Angel Garza, who attacked them after that aforementioned tag title bout. Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford jumped the duo backstage before their match, then proceeded to beat them cleanly in the ring.
Sure, you could argue that the Profits need good challengers, and beating a potential rival cleanly like that doesn’t make sense, but Garza & Andrade have been yo-yoing for months, so you might as well have the tag champs pick up a decisive win here.
