8 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 5)

1. Failed Sympathy

If WWE was going for “sympathy” for Seth Rollins Monday night, they missed horribly and hit on “stupid.”

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came out to gloat about last week’s attack on the former WWE Universal Champion – and to show video of the brutal attack. Rollins then hobbled out to the ring, leaning on a chair. If you were waiting for The Architect to reveal a deception or master plan, you were horribly disappointed, as Rollins simply took a beating for several minutes.

The result was Rollins looking stupid for coming out and facing down Brock without any kind of plan other than getting his a** kicked. Afterward, Seth grabbed a mic to grimace his way through a promo about how this is all he has (we’re sure Becky Lynch feels the love) and then guaranteed he’ll beat Lesnar at SummerSlam.

The problem is that fans weren’t exactly rushing to Rollins aid here, save for a “Burn it down!” chant as he left the ring. But it was not the level of sympathy WWE could have been going for here.
