Clearly, Paul Heyman doesn’t feel the need to have 15-minute diatribes to open every episode of Raw, as evidenced by recent shows. Monday was no exception.

Raw opened with Seth Rollins celebrating his improbable WWE Universal Championship victory at SummerSlam Sunday night, and he immediately gave a kudos to the fans for rallying behind him, which they really did as the match wore on. This brought out AJ Styles and the OC to get in Rollins’ face.

Unlike previous episodes, where we’d get a lengthy back-and-forth, AJ challenged Rollins, and Seth accepted. Aside from a nice bit of tension with Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson feigning getting involved, that was about it, and that’s all it needed to be.

Simple, easy and direct. Sometimes that’s all you need.
