8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Aug 22)

5. The Cruiserweights Are Coming

It’s no secret that the Cruiserweight division is getting relaunched on Raw next month (in four weeks), but we got a glimpse Monday night of some of the likely members of the division, as WWE is beginning to plug the new competitors more and more.

Rich Swann, Noam Dar, (The) Brian Kendrick and TJ Perkins all were highlighted during a brief vignette, which you have to assume means they’ll be part of Raw’s new division when it debuts September 19th. There likely will be others announced in the coming weeks, but that’s a pretty good start for the fledgling division.

One question that hopefully will be cleared up: the 32-man Cruiserweight Classic tournament will wrap up on September 14th. Will the winner of that tourney not only receive a trophy, but also become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion? Or will there be another tournament on Raw to crown a new champ?
