8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 12)

1. A Tale Of Two Matches

If the Raw main event ended after Seth Rollins’ interference caused a DQ, then this item would have easily ended up in the “Downs” column. As it turned out, Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns apparently lumbered through the first half of the match for good reason.

The two wrestlers attacked each other with wild abandon after the match restarted, teeing off on each other. Roman hit a Samoan Drop, Superman Punch, Drive-By and a series of punches and clotheslines. Owens busted out a Fisherman Buster from the middle rope, Frogsplash, Cannonballs and ultimately a Pop-Up Powerbomb for the win.

The result was a main event that had fans jumping up and down. It reinforced the fact that Reigns absolutely can hang in big matches (fan reaction notwithstanding), and it showed that Owens will bring the goods when called upon. Hopefully, this bodes well for both men going forward.
