6. The Feud Must Continue, Part 38

Maybe this is going somewhere, but WWE in recent years hasn’t been known for its follow-through on lower- to midcard angles, so we’re going to have to keep this in the negative column.

After winning against Chad Gable last week, Konnor scored another win Monday, this time over former United States Champion Bobby Roode. It came with a bit of an assist from Viktor, but it still was notable: the last time before last week that Konnor won a singles match (televised or house show) was more than five years ago.

Meanwhile, the Ascension as a team has managed just one televised win (on Main Event) in the past two-and-a-half years. So you’ll forgive if fans aren’t taking this seriously as a push of some sort. We’re officially a full month into this Roode & Gable pairing, and they still have literally only faced The Ascension in some form. That’s just ridiculous.

Of course, WWE could completely surprise us with some direction, but we’re not holding our collective breath.
