8 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 36 (Part 1)

2. For Those Who Don’t Read The Dirt Sheets…

Look, if you read every article on every wrestling website, you’d know that the SmackDown Tag Team Championship ladder match was changed from all three teams defending to three singles wrestlers battling for the tag titles because Miz didn’t pass the health screening.

But for all the casual fans out there tuning in because it’s WrestleMania, you literally got no explanation before the match. It simply was three guys fighting on behalf of their respective tag teams for the blue brand’s straps. No reason, no explanation.

That’s just horrible work from a company that had a week to have an intern write three sentences to explain it, or film a backstage incident with Big E and Jey Uso taken out by John Morrison and thus it being made a singles bout.

Actually, that would have worked perfectly. Morrison used a lead pipe to attack two of his opponents, and instead of giving his team an advantage, he loses his partner too.

Why can a guy at a keyboard write a plausible storyline excuse in literally 30 seconds, and WWE’s 37 writers can’t do it?
