So let€™s get this straight: Shane McMahon battled the Undertaker inside (and outside) Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania for control of Monday Night Raw. Shane lost, which effectively ended his tenure with WWE except Vince McMahon wanted to watch him flounder, so he let him run Raw last week.

Then this week, Shane was back and in charge again, this time because of an outpouring of social media support. No, seriously. Shane-O-Mac got to run Raw again because people tweeted about it €“ at least in the storyline. What was the point of the feud with the Undertaker again?

Look, if having Shane run Raw is an excuse for WWE to do a couple different things like push AJ Styles and Sami Zayn as possible world title contenders, hold a tag team tournament for a new #1 contender, and make Cesaro #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship, then that€™s fine.

But if they were going to go that route anyway €“ although you€™d have to assume they planned this angle out for this to work €“ then Shane should have faced a different Vince avatar and beat him at Mania.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
