8 Ups And 8 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 30)

3. The Magic Could Be Gone

Miz TV served as the setting Monday night for the reboot of Lana and Rusev as an on-screen duo, but it looks like it could be too late to salvage the act. While it was only one night, it appeared as if the magic is gone from an act that was red-hot throughout 2014 and well into 2015. Rusev and Lana were genuine heat magnets during their debut year, finally being derailed after John Cena won the United States Championship and ended Rusev€™s undefeated streak. Both performers are talented and should have been able to regroup afterward, but the booking after WrestleMania was so poor that it might have effectively doused the fire. WWE inexplicably separated the duo with the intent of making Lana a singles star, but then paired her with Dolph Ziggler and had them engage in a love quadrangle with Rusev and Summer Rae throughout the summer, which ended when Lana broke her hand and then TMZ broke the real-life engagement between Rusev and Lana. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72dBUg-rov4 Monday, Rusev and Lana tried to rekindle their on-screen relationship, but it appeared to fall flat. We can reserve final judgment, but the initial feeling wasn€™t good.

Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
