Though it may not have been on quite the same level as Bret Hart's carrying of The British Bulldog back in 1992, the modern great that is Kevin Owens certainly played a crucial part in making 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin look like he hadn't missed a step by bumping like a mad man on the night of WrestleMania 38 Night One.

Also, after not being involved in a proper match since WrestleMania XIX, 'The Texas Rattlesnake' was understandably a little rusty inside of AT&T Stadium. In fact, there were actually a few times during their blockbuster main event when Austin accidentally connected with some seriously stiff punches.

But in a move that shows you just how respectful the former Universal Champion really is, Austin would later reveal on the Out of Character podcast (at 8:00 in the clip above) that Owens didn't throw a single receipt his way after being legitimately battered at various points in their epic battle.

He just took the damage that made folks feel like they'd stepped back into the late '90s like the classy GOAT he is.

And in another interesting note, remember the baddest SOB in WWE history regularly taking a second to swig one of his delicious Broken Skull IPAs during the contest? That wasn't Austin subtly advertising his own product, it was just the nervous icon's secret way of giving himself a breather mid-main event.

What a GOAT.
