8 Wrestlers Being Buried By WWE's Scripted Promos
3. King Corbin
King Corbin had so much potential. Even though it pissed a lot of fans off as an end to the King of the Ring tournament, it always makes sense to give it to a heel if you can capitalize with a great king gimmick. But potential is a rough thing in the WWE these days, especially when there is a lot of scripting involved.
The past two weeks we have been treated to King Corbin loosely throwing around his royalty gimmick as a means of making testicle jokes about Roman Reigns. Oh, that and poop bag jokes (no doubt recycled from the pooper scooper jokes Moxley wouldn't do) and awful graphics of Roman's dog character with a chihuahua bark. What does this have to do with a king you might ask? We all might ask, but answers are few and far between with this one unfortunately.
Gone are the days of King Booker and Queen Sharmell. Instead of a full renaissance of a character and reinvention of a wrestler with a brilliant commitment to the gimmick, we just have a new version of the same thing. And everybody knows how much we loved BARON Corbin, right guys?
And apparently, all of this is leading to a dog collar match. So how they try to spin a "king" being in a dog collar match and it not being just literally feeding the dog a bone is beyond me.
But in the meantime keep the mic out of his hands until Roman eats him.
