8 Wrestlers John Cena Didn't Bury

Cena and Lesnar have an interesting history. As two of the biggest prospects to come out of the OVW system, both seemed destined for stardom but it was Lesnar who quickly rose to the top of the card, dethroning the Rock at Summerslam 2002; just four months after his WWE debut.

Lesnar, however, famously left the company in 2004 and, in his absence, it was Cena who quickly rose up the card and became the biggest star in the industry. When Lesnar returned to WWE amid much fanfare in 2012, he immediately attacked John Cena and wrestled him in a match at Extreme Rules. Bizarrely though, WWE made the decision to have Cena win in Lesnar's first match back. It made no sense then and still makes no sense today.

Fortunately, when WWE had their chance to rectify the situation, they did so in incredible fashion. At Summerslam 2014, Lesnar challenged Cena for the WWE championship and completely dominated him from the first bell to the last in a stunning sight.

Running through Big Match John like this was a huge statement and this win combined with Lesnar ending the Undertaker's streak at WrestleMania earlier that year made Lesnar the star he should have been booked as from the moment he walked back in to WWE. Let's hope nobody else comes along and does the same thing to Lesnar though, hey? Oh...
