8 Wrestlers Who Surprisingly Never Held WWE Gold
5. Chris Masters
Chris Masters, aka 'the Masterpiece' (aka that guy with the dancing pecs), was one of the most precocious WWE stars of the modern era, making his television debut at the age of 22 and competing - albeit in a six-way elimination chamber - for the WWE Championship on pay-per-view less than a year later.
Granted, there was more than a hint of blandness about Masters' persona - his primary appeal being that chiselled physique - and he was seldom given the opportunity to show what he could do in the ring outside of obligatory squash matches against much smaller opponents.
Given how quickly he was making a push for the world title though, it's strange that he never held at least a secondary singles belt or a tag strap - especially when virtually all of his contemporaries had done so.
