8 Wrestlers Who Surprisingly Never Held WWE Gold

2. Jimmy Snuka

An unorthodox performer for his time, it took Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka just a daring leap from the top of a steel cage to win the affections of the WWE audience - and cement his place in pro wrestling folklore.

That was during his unsuccessful world title shot against Bob Backlund in 1982 - his first year with the company - yet Snuka would not pick up a single championship win in either of his two full-time stints in WWE, the latter of which saw him become the first victim of Undertaker's WrestleMania winning streak in 1991.

Snuka's failure to capture a title in WWE didn't really harm his career though, the Fijian going on to become the inaugural ECW Champion, as well as one of the early inductees into the Hall of Fame. It just goes to show you don't necessarily need a title belt when you can fly across the ring at Madison Square Garden.
