8 Wrestlers Who Worked Through Ridiculous Injuries
1. Mankind - Dislocated... Body
Somebody should have told The Undertaker when to stop, because during their iconic Hell in a Cell war at King of the Ring '98, Mankind wasn't going to. And indeed, didn't.
In the years which have followed, Mick Foley has spoken candidly about how he regrets the two drastic bumps he took during the encounter, first wildly through an announce table from the top of the mesh, and then - accidentally - through the cage itself, plummeting to the ring below like a sack of spuds. Not because of the injuries he sustained - and their long term effects - but rather because it's the only moment of his career people seem to remember today.
Frankly, it's a miracle Mick remembers it himself. In fact, it's a miracle he survived. The damage report from the two falls read like a whole series of ER: bruised ribs, a concussion, dislocated shoulder, puncture wounds, a dislocated jaw and internal bleeding. Oh, and several guaranteed visits from the Tooth Fairy - with one of Mankind's gnashers infamously, disgustingly, ending lodged up his nose. Foley didn't just live, much to the surprise of friend Terry Funk, but finished the match. And he wonders why people - us - are still talking about it.
