8 Wrestlers You Didn't Know HATE Each Other For Real

3. Chris Jericho & MVP

Scott Steiner Ric Flair
AEW

A story initially reported in such a way by Dave Meltzer that just about everybody immediately raced to cite Chris Jericho himself as the source, the tale of 'Le Champion's hotel beef with MVP positions Jericho as the coolest person in this or any room.

To recap, during a chance 2022 meeting of the two, Jericho simply breezed past the Hurt Syndicate boss while he was trying to suggest they take their business outside. Per witnesses, he walked into an elevator, mouthing that he "didn't fight jobbers" and any chance of a situation developing was dropped. The doors closed behind him and that was ostensibly the end of that, even though the beginning of that had been in 2020 when Porter had - ahem - decked Jericho aboard the first ever Jericho Cruise for what had allegedly been a disagreement over "social and political issues".

This was per Bodyslam.net and Brian Last on Jim Cornette's podcast, and though the pair have technically become colleagues since Porter's move to All Elite Wrestling in 2024, the period has fallen while Jericho's profile has never been lower. The wounds might have been healed, but enough people seeing the latter as opposed to the former doesn't exactly cover Jericho in glory, even if he did Cool-Hand-Luke his way through this specific attempt altercation.
