Road Dogg isn't a competitor who is a clear world champion candidate, while he was a crucial part of the Attitude Era tag-team division and mid-card, both his athletic ability and work ethic hold him back as a serious competitor. While he didn't get near the main event scene of TNA or the WWF, he received a brief world title reign as part of one of many ailing promotions that arose in the aftermath of WCW's closure. The promotion in question was called World Wrestling All-Stars (WWA), an Australian promotion that attempted to fill the gap that WCW and ECW left. The head booker was former WCW announcer Jeremy Borash, while the owner was a concert promoter called Andrew McManus. The roster was made up of mostly WWF and WCW cast-offs, such as; Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett, Sting and Lex Luger among others. In one of the earliest recorded shows, Road Dogg defeated reigning champion Jeff Jarrett for the title. Three days later, Jeff Jarrett defeated Road Dogg in a title match at WWA: The Inception, the company's first live pay-per-view. Road Dogg's title win was presumably so Jeff Jarrett could win it back at the company's first major show. Regardless, Road Dogg still gets the bragging rights of being a former world champion, no matter how dubious the circumstances or booking may have been.
