8 Wrestling Careers Ruined By Jumping To The Other Side

2. Tazz - From ECW To WWF (2000)

Taz was a force to be reckoned with in ECW, he held every title in the promotion and was arguably the most dominant wrestler in the federation for as long as he stayed. Like most talents that Paul Heyman grew himself, WWE and WCW became highly interested in having the suplex machine for themselves. After holding the ECW Heavyweight title for 8 months and after receiving offers from both WCW and the WWF, Taz became bored of being a big fish in the small pond and opted to sign with Vince McMahon. Tazz would soon find out that the grass isn't always greener. Tazz debuted at the 2000 Royal Rumble with a significant win over the previously undefeated Kurt Angle. This was a good start for the submission expert, as both fans and staff backstage were impressed with Tazz's performance. Due to legal complications and a deal between ECW and the WWF, Tazz went back temporarily to win the ECW title from Mike Awesome, who was defecting to WCW. He wore the belt on WWF television and faced Triple H in a champion vs champion match, which he lost. This tarnished any momentum that Tazz had from his debut. Months later, an arm injury, a sub-par feud with Jerry 'The King' Lawler and the tag-team pairing of Tazz and Raven had derailed any chance of Tazz being a dominant force in the big leagues. He soon retired as a wrestler and stuck to color commentary.
