Less than four minutes into the show-opening Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. The Vaudevillains tag bout at Payback 2016, the match was thrown out and Enzo was wheeled away on a gurney surrounded by worried faces.

During a routine Irish Whip spot, Amore's head had violently struck the middle rope and the impact knocked him senseless. He tumbled out of the ring without his hands up, landed hard on the surrounding ring mats and lay motionless for several scary seconds before finally regaining consciousness.

In interviews since, ex-Vaudevillains member Simon Gotch has claimed that Enzo was 100% to blame for the accident; further, he claimed that Amore was known backstage for being a klutz who hadn't mastered the actual wrestling part of being a pro wrestler. Still, the incident was a sobering reminder that everything in wrestling is dangerous.

It also stopped the match dead before it could really get going. The quartet were probably meant to go around 10 minutes before Enzo's unfortunate concussion.
