8 Wrestling Records That Will Never Be Broken
1. Longest WrestleMania Winning Streak (21 Matches)
Up until The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak ended in 2014, it was the most vaunted achievement in all of WWE's canon. And while the company has a habit of manipulating history without regard for facts, in this case, the hype was well deserved.
The Undertaker made his WrestleMania debut in 1991, defeating Jimmy Snuka in a nondescript affair. The next year, he beat Jake Roberts, and the following year, it was Giant Gonzalez who rested in peace. 'Taker missed WrestleMania X and 'Mania 2000, but every single other year, he scored a victory at the Showcase of the Immortals. By the mid-2000s, WWE began acknowledging that Undertaker was undefeated at the event, making his matches all the more special. Men like Randy Orton and Batista tried to end the streak, but came up short. In 2009, Undertaker first wrestled Shawn Michaels at the Show of Shows, and from then on, his defence of the Streak became as important as WrestleMania's main event - some years, more so.
After 21 victories at WrestleMania, The Undertaker was defeated by Brock Lesnar, ending a run that will never be matched. Though it may seem like WWE management could, at any time, decide to give another wrestler an Undertaker-style push, the truth is that the chosen wrestler would need to be a star for nearly a quarter of a century to even have a chance to match the achievement.
In other words: don't hold your breath.
