It must be a thrill to get to wrestle one of your mentors. Chris Jericho had that rare opportunity in 2009 when he squared off with WWE Hall of Famer Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat. The pair first locked horns in the 3-on-1 handicap match at WrestleMania XXV, of which Steamboat was the undoubted star. Rolling back the years, the then-56-year-old Dragon performer his trademark armdrags, a plancha, a cross body and even managed to skin the cat. And to think, Steamboat's spot was originally earmarked to go to Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine, of all people. Steamboat's performance was one of the highlights of an otherwise disappointing WrestleMania (save for Michaels versus 'Taker). Realising that he still had something left in the tank, they booked him against Y2J at the following month's Backlash PPV. They had a respectable match and Steamboat again looked good out there. But watching it you couldn't help but wonder 'what if Steamboat and Jericho had've met several years earlier?'. Jericho was on top of his game in 2009 but a younger, more athletic Jericho against a younger, more mobile Steamboat would have been gold.
