8 WWE Dream Matches That Happened Way Too Late

5. Sting Vs. Bret Hart

Two of the best babyfaces of all time, The Icon and The Hitman could have produced genuine classics in the early-to-mid 90s. It was not to be, since Sting was loyal to WCW and Bret was in the midst of a big push in Vince's company. Their paths didn't cross until Bret jumped to the opposition in 1998. By this point, Sting was in his full-on Crow phase and possessed a bit of a darker edge. When Bret made the move, people began fantasy booking. Naturally, Sting (as one of the most athletic Main Eventers around) was one of the wrestlers whom they booked him against. The two clashed several times and the results were, invariably, disappointing. Bret had been accused of not caring during his WCW run but the company did a lot to remove a lot of the aura he had built up while wrestling for the WWE. By the time he and Sting wrestled each other it wasn't the epic meeting of the stars it should have been.
