8 WWE Dropouts Who Revived Their Careers
4. Toni Storm
It is hard to articulate the sheer magnitude of popularity Aussie superstar Toni Storm has earned since leaving WWE. After feeling peripheral in NXT before being custard pied (seriously) by Charlotte Flair on SmackDown, Storm asked for and was granted her release. It is not hyperbole to say that since then, she has become one of the most adored professional wrestlers in the world today.
Adopting her 'Timeless' persona, one of the most endearing things about Storm's larger-than-life posturing and potty-mouthed innuendos is that it's hard to envision WWE having the balls to execute such a brilliant, female-friendly gimmick. She inspires as much emotion as she does laughter; she is loved by men, women, and people of all pronouns for her wonderful sense of inclusivity; and her feud with Mariah May is in the conversation for the best this decade has seen in any company, anywhere.
Bold as brass and tough as nails, 'Timeless' Toni Storm feels like a one-company gal with good reason. AEW promotes her as one of the biggest names in the company, with no distinction between her and the likes of Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, and Adam Copeland. Much like her moniker, Ms. Storm looks set to prove herself to be, indeed, 'Timeless'.
