8 WWE NXT Call-Ups That Will Happen After WrestleMania 35

4. Velveteen Dream

Many fans will be hoping that Velveteen Dream enjoys a long, prosperous reign as NXT North American Champion. He only won the belt on NXT's 20 February episode, and with Johnny Gargano's run lasting just 25 days, Dream dropping the strap to Matt Riddle at TakeOver: New York could be seen as a kick in the nuts.

It could also be a surefire sign that Dream is on his way to the main roster - a promotion he is ready for.

The former Patrick Clark may benefit from a longer stint in development, as his ring work still shows a few rough edges. Either way, Dream has several traits that can't be taught. He is NXT's most charismatic wrestler, knows how to project, and carries himself like a star. While hanging out in the multi-million dollar Performance Center would make him a better wrestler, he's already a Superstar.

Currently in the midst of his most impressive in-ring year, Dream's call-up would be particularly concerning. 73-year-old Vince McMahon won't get his flamboyant character. The Chairman needs to take his hands off and let Velveteen be Velveteen if he's to prosper, and if he does, Dream will inevitably become a headliner.
