8 WWE Stars Sacrificed To Make Roman Reigns Look Strong

3. The League Of Nations

This one isn't even speculation. In an interview this past August with Wrestle Zone Radio, Wade 'Bad News' Barrett stated that the League of Nations faction was pretty much put together in order to collectively get beaten by Roman Reigns. Okay, he didn't use those words, but he did say that they were just foils for Roman.

As with Big Show a year earlier, WWE logic dictated that a group of heels lead by Sheamus beating Roman down would lead to crowds hugely cheering his comebacks. Well, wrong again WWE. Throughout the beef Reigns continued on his all-conquering path and four potential top heels were sacrificed along that path.

Barrett and Alberto Del Rio are no longer with the company, and Sheamus has only just begun to recover from this period in his career thanks to constantly fighting Cesaro. Rusev? Well, more on him in a moment...

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
