8 WWE Stars That Triple H Stabbed In The Back
3. Chyna
Triple H’s history with Chyna is long, storied, and messy.
The Ninth Wonder of the World started training to become a wrestler in 1995, and met with Triple H and Shawn Michaels after attending a show in 1996. After watching some of her tapes, Michaels and Triple H convinced Vince McMahon to bring her in as a bodyguard, but she turned down their initial contract offer and only made her official WWE debut in 1997.
Chyna, as planned, worked aas D-Generation X’s enforcer, and frequently got involved in The Game’s matches to help the rising DX member win. She wasn’t exactly a well-refined technical wrestler, but Chyna found her niche in WWE, and was hugely over both during her time as a DX member, and during her later singles career.
In a role reversal for this list, Chyna actually betrayed Triple H on-screen back in 1999 after attacking him following a match with The Rock, and joining The Corporation. If you believe Chyna, however, Triple H’s own betrayal took place behind the scenes, and it was far grimmer than anything that transpired on WWE television.
The two dated from 1996 to 2000, but initially hid their relationship from co-workers as Chyna didn’t want anyone to think she’d slept her way to do the top. The duo lived together for a while before going their separate ways, and if her word is to be believed, the relationship’s dissolution contributed to Chyna’s 2001 departure.
Triple H’s alleged backstabbing took the form of an affair with Stephanie McMahon, whom Chyna claimed The Game had been seeing while they were still together. They split as a result, but the stress was becoming too much for Chyna, who’d almost become a persona non grata backstage. She approached Vince McMahon with her concerns a year later, who, of course, took his daughter’s side. Chyna was dismissed shortly afterwards.
