2. Brock Lesnar
Perhaps this would be a different story if Brock Lesnar was full-time similar to the aforementioned athletes, but showing up in WWE only a few times a year has certainly worked to his benefit. It has unquestionably made him more of an attraction and he has maintained that mystique he has as a result.
He bounced around from opponent to opponent for the first few years of his second stint with WWE, but needless to say, snapping the streak of The Undertaker at WrestleMania 30 saw his stock skyrocket. From that point forward, he had a reason to be brought back. He went from conquering the seemingly impossible to then capturing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in dominant fashion at SummerSlam 2014.
Lesnar embarked on an eight month reign as champion before dropping the belt to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 31. But because he wasn't pinned in that Triple Threat match, he had unfinished business and remained focused on becoming champion again. His championship aspirations were thwarted by Undertaker at Battleground, and although their SummerSlam clash concluded in controversy, he decisively defeated The Deadman at Hell in a Cell.
So far in 2016, he has failed to regain the gold yet has squashed the sole thorn in his side, that being Dean Ambrose. We haven't seen The Beast Incarnate since WrestleMania 32, though it is inevitable he returns with a purpose.
