8 WWE Storylines That Must Happen Before 2017
1. Roman Reigns: The Chosen One
The great Roman Reigns experiment failed miserably.
Fans rejected his one dimensional babyface character and Reigns did himself no favors with a june Wellness Policy violation. Add in some questionable booking, stir and the final product is a disappointment for all involved.
With fans so hellbent on booing the former three-time WWE champion, it is time for management to cut bait with the idea of him succeeding as a babyface for the time being. What better way to allow him to prosper than by turning him heel and aligning him with The Authority?
The audience is not stupid. They recognize that Vince McMahon and management within WWE hand-picked Reigns two years ago and moved heaven and earth to ensure that the second-generation wrestler would win championships and headline WrestleMania, so why not allow reality to bleed into entertainment?
Reigns as the new chosen one would be a great way to alter expectations on the red brand while simultaneously playing off the very real disenfranchisement that exists among fans. Most of all, it would allow him to thrive in the heel persona that fits him so much more comfortably.
