9 Exact Moments WWE Booking Stopped Making Sense

7. The Travis Scott Debacle

John Cena CM Punk
WWE

On Season One of WWE Unreal, an elated Travis Scott can be heard in the Gorilla position telling anybody that will listen how he might well leave music to take up pro wrestling full time

That was filmed in early-2025, and before the year was out he'd already elected to not give up his day job in a decision that might get brought up in Season Two. Scott's WWE CV would otherwise be glittering too. He joined in on a particularly epic Jey Uso entrance in January and contributed "FE!N" to WrestleMania and company lore with a fantastic 'Show Of Shows' soundtrack. Unfortunately, his name will be attached to a massive moment that caused more problems than it fixed, a run-in so dismal it etched a WrestleMania main event in all-time worst lists, and walk-out that brought an entire shoddy story to an anti-climactic close.

And for what? For your lapsed fan friends to ask "what on earth is Travis Scott doing there?" as he joined John Cena in brutalising Cody Rhodes? For them to subsequently ask nothing when they didn't bother watching any of the disappointing follow-up? Scott, again per Unreal, was in the select inner circle of those that knew that the Cena turn was coming. Thanks to leaks and apparent internal dissatisfaction with his attitude, the whole world was allowed to know when he was no longer figured in.
