Another Tony Khan pre-show announcement, the Jay Lethal/Lee Moriarty match made for yet another unique scenario on a night that was already something of a one-off.

Lethal and Moriarty (and Moriarty's corner man Matt Sydal) both returned to their old ROH stomping grounds as AEW employees made their presence felt up and down the Ring Of Honor roster.

A cavalcade of amazing near falls resulted in Lethal finally choosing the different way he'd alluded to on prior AEW shows. After using a referee distraction to hit a desperation low blow, he nailed the Lethal Injection for the win. After briefly appearing to doubt himself for a second, he went all in on his turn by kicking away Matt Sydal’s crutch.

Sonjay Dutt attempted to talk him to the back, but the turn was as good as confirmed. Dutt's position would become clearer as the night wore on, but the crowd made no secret of their fury with the two.
