Seeking to unify the original ROH World Championship belt with title held by Bandido, Jonathan Gresham arrived at Supercard Of Honor with the most mainstream momentum he'd ever had - not least because of the attention his attendance backstage at AEW shows had also generated.

Bandido's Final Battle bout with the Terminus owner couldn't go ahead when the former contracted COVID-19, but the timing couldn't have worked out better for the two to meet here - especially with ROH's new owner adding fuel to various speculative fires.

At points, communication ever so slightly broke down, but the complex exchanges were being established in the middle to justify the closing stretch. And to provide gaps for fans to note Chavo Guerrero’s sh*thousery.

A 60-count stalling suplex from Bandido was a mid-match high point before a Guerrero interjection was too much for Bandido himself to take. He insisted his own second get the boot, resulting in a thrilling climax that saw Gresham secure gold after a raft of electrifying near falls.

But the night, as we had all been told in advance, wasn’t destined to end there..,
