9 Reasons Nikki Bella Outlasting AJ Lee's WWE Diva Title Reign Was Best For Business

9. Every Revolution Needs A Regime To Topple

Let€™s get the obvious one out of the way first. In order for this so-called €œdivas revolution€ to succeed €“ and let€™s face it, it€™s been a failure thus far €“ there needs to be some sort of goal that the revolutionaries are fighting to accomplish. Fans were (foolishly) optimistic that the promotion of Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Charlotte to the main roster would signify some real change for the women, but so far rather than reshape the division they€™ve become mired down in the monotony. The new additions don€™t have much in the way of character definition and this entire €œteam€ concept is so forced and inauthentic that it€™s done no favors for anyone. The focal point of every single woman on the roster should be to become the champion and they should all be working toward that goal. Nikki Bella serves as the ideal €œevil empire€ for the young upstarts to try and dethrone. She€™s an established WWE star who has been a part of the machine for nearly a decade and the company arguably places more emphasis on her role on Total Divas than as the WWE champion. Her status within the industry makes her the perfect foil and obstacle for these aspiring new divas to overcome.
