9 Reasons Nikki Bella Outlasting AJ Lee's WWE Diva Title Reign Was Best For Business
2. She's Committed To The Job
There's a school of thought among fans that the only reason Nikki was booked to outlast AJ Lee's reign was so that the company could "stick it" to the former employee and her husband, both of whom left WWE under less than ideal terms, and in CM Punk's case maintain a very contentious relationship to this day. Is there any truth to that? Maybe. But if so, who cares? As a company, you should absolutely want your most dedicated employees in positions of prominence. That may seem petty, but Lee chose to walk away from WWE of her own free will - an act which she should be commended for - and the company doesn't owe her anything. If WWE is serious about pushing the divas revolution - and while their mouths are telling us they are their actions are showing otherwise - then the accomplishment of holding the championship longer than any other wrestler should be touted constantly. You can't do that if the honor belongs to a disgruntled ex-employee whose husband is embroiled in a bitter lawsuit with your company physician. in addition to all that, Nikki is always front and center when it comes to media appearances, charity work and promotional duties, and she's quite good at it. It may seem childish (it isn't), but it makes perfect business sense.
