9 Reasons To Be Optimistic About WWE 2018

3. Potential New Signings

Ever since WWE changed its policy when it came to signing independent wrestlers, a conveyor belt of top stars have signed for the biggest wrestling company on the planet. A decade ago, you had to come through WWE’s developmental system in order to be a big star in the company. Now, men like AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins find themselves at the top of the pile.

Who will WWE sign in 2018? It seems almost inevitable that current PWG World Champion Ricochet is going to sign once his Lucha Underground contract clause runs down. Many fans are already fearing the worst when it comes to Prince Puma, assuming that he will be sent to 205 Live. Would that be so bad? The cruiserweight show is full of talent, and a three-way feud between Ricochet, Hideo Itami and a potentially returning Neville may well be the boost it needs.

Some fans will hope and pray that Kenny Omega makes the jump to WWE, but that isn’t going to happen. What about Chuck Taylor, Jeff Cobb, Matt Riddle, or Travis Banks? Fenix? Pentagon Jr.? Some stars from WWE's past such as Rey Mysteriomay even make a return to the company.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
