When AJ Styles, Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows left New Japan Pro Wrestling at the start of the year, many felt that Bullet Club had reached a natural end. Kenny Omega took over as leader and established, along with the Young Bucks, a spin-off faction known as The Elite. Whenever a faction openly has two tiers, it generally means their time is up.

Well, Dominion showed us that Bullet Club is far from dead. It is unlikely that they will find themselves in the positions of dominance that they had in recent years, but their top wrestlers are still being pushed strongly. Hangman Page is the latest foreign talent to join, and the opening match proper of the event served as something of a showcase for the new man.

Along with Bad Luck Fale and Yujiro Takahashi, Bullet Club overcame Yoshitatsu, Togi Makabe and Captain New Japan in the opening six-man. Page picked up the fall, pinning CNJ, and was featured strongly throughout. He even hanged Yoshitatsu before the opening bell, a visual he would repeat later on in the show after the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match.

Unfortunately for Page, the crowd didn't seem entirely invested in the match itself. Bullet Club is sticking around however, and we can expect a number of their members to be involved in the upcoming G1 Climax.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
