A bizarre twist in the Hunt saga came to light in recent weeks when Hunt was booked in a fight at UFC 209 in March against Alistair Overeem. This fact has thrown many for a loop.

See, the crux of Hunt's grievance is that he has repeatedly faced doping fighters in the UFC. Antonio Silva, Frank Mir, and Brock Lesnar all failed drug tests after fighting Hunt. Lesnar is the only fighter to actually beat Hunt in the octagon, however, though the result was later changed to a No Contest.

After the Lesnar loss, amidst talk of the lawsuit, Hunt was demanding a clause be added to his contract that he be paid the bulk of his opponent's purse should his opponent fail any drug test related to the fight. The UFC (and several opponents, likely) refused. As a result, Hunt declined several fights, including a bout against Junior Dos Santos, a fighter who has never been under suspicion for drug use.

Instead, Hunt accepted the Overeem fight. Which is shocking, because Overeem failed a drug test following his fight with Brock Lesnar back in 2011. In fact, he's one of the most notorious athletes in the UFC when it comes to failed drug tests. Even more shocking is that Hunt claims the fight was forced on him. According to Hunt, the promotion claimed he'd be in violation of his contract if he didn't accept a fight.
