9 Times Injuries Actually Helped A Wrestler's Career
4. Triple H
Some might argue that Triple H was never the same again after completely blowing his quad, and that his skills in the ring became watered-down as a result. While that may be true, there should be little doubt that his epic comeback is one of the greatest and most inspirational of all time.
The smartest move on WWE's part was developing one of those WWE Desire vignettes for Triple H on the heels of his comeback. Fans were reminded of the excruciating injury and shown the intense rehab Triple H underwent, helping to sell his return as an invincible superhero.
And the absolutely deafening pop that Triple H received at Madison Square Garden on his first night back with the company showed that the fans were ready to embrace him in that role. His quick push to yank the Undisputed WWF Championship away from Chris Jericho felt justified, if only because of the work he put into getting back to full fitness.
But perhaps the biggest bright side to Triple H's quad tear is that while he was out of commission, he completely missed the horrible Invasion angle, which tainted the careers of a lot of good men. Triple H came out of it unscathed because he was on the shelf.
