Anyone who's been in the business as long - and as consistently - as Mark Calloway is eventually going to find himself growing a little stale, or at the very least, being taken for granted by fans who've never known the product without his involvement. As glam metal band Cinderella tell us, 'you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone'.

While deep into his run with The Ministry of Darkness, Undertaker suffered a groin tear and saw his abilities in the ring start to waiver. His injury was worked into a rebellious storyline that had The Dead Man going on hiatus from the company.

When he returned months later, fans were treated to a bandana-wearing, motorcycle-riding, Kid Rock-loving version of The Undertaker that represented a more "realistic" version of the character. And although it took audiences a little while to fully embrace this gimmick rejuvenation, it soon became further proof that The Undertaker could get over with the fans no matter what he was wearing or how much lightning he was shooting from his hands.

And not for nothing, but this also led back into a heel transformation as Big Evil, where the big guy spent two years "making people famous." It was glorious. And without him being forced off TV for a few months, it's unlikely these fresh takes on the old favorite would have come to fruition.
