9 Times Triple H Stole The Spotlight

In the summer of 2013, Daniel Bryan was over. Like, really over. Having canned his shot at John Cena’s WWE title at the Money in the Bank PPV, the company had little choice but to cede to popular demand and book Bryan vs. Cena for the SummerSlam main event.

But just six days before the show, something of a spanner was thrown into the works—a spanner in the form of Triple H.

Now the company COO rather than 'the Game', Triple H inserted himself into the match as the special guest referee. At the time, it was thought that the move would help engineer a McMahon family feud somewhere down the line, but whatever the reason behind it, it thrust Triple H into a limelight that didn’t necessarily have his name on it.

Not only that but come SummerSlam, after Bryan had beaten Cena clean, Triple H turned on the new champion, allowing Randy Orton to cash-in his Money in the Bank briefcase and steal the WWE title.

Of course, there was a redeeming factor here in that all these shenanigans made Bryan’s eventual victory at WrestleMania XXX mean so much more.
