9 Times WWE Disrespected The Cruiserweights

1. Hornswoggle - Cruiserweight Champion

Rey Mysterio. Eddie Guerrero. Dean Malenko. Chris Jericho. Jushin Liger. Those are excellent, well-respected wrestlers who helped raise the Cruiserweight Title's status thanks to their routinely awesome performances. The appointing of Hornswoggle as Champion signifies the moment when WWE officially threw in the towel on the cruiserweight division... The former 'Little Bastard' won the title at the 2007 Great American Bash, when he was revealed as a susprise entrant into the (yet another) cruiserweight open, which also involved Jimmy Wang Yang, Shannon Moore, Jamie Noble, Funaki and Chavo Guerrero. Hornswoggle pinned Chavo following a 'tadpole splash' after he had come out of his hiding place under the ring. WWE had given up, and it was obvious. Not only was it a cheap gag, but it was incredible disrespectful to the other members of the division, who put in the hours in the gym and take their craft seriously. After an asinine feud with Noble, Hornswoggle was forced to vacate the belt when it was revealed that he was the illegitimate son of Vince McMahon. A sad end for a terrible mismanaged title.
