9 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (31 Aug)

8. Here We Go, Hangman

Hangman Page John Silver
AEW

Many a pundit predicted 'Hangman' Adam Page's insertion into the Trios World Championship Tournament when he spurned The Young Bucks in favour of supporting The Dark Order through the completion, leading to a gut-wrenching final showdown with The Elite at All Out - and here we are.

Page came into the tournament last night. With Ten injured last week and substitute Evil Uno knocked loopy in a backstage segment with Andrade El Idolo and Jose the Assistant, 'Hangman' stepped up to partner John Silver and Alex Reynolds, who seemed resigned to going it alone.

Speaking of Reynolds, his fantastic new beard gets a supplemental Up. That's how this column works.

It was always a case of when, not if AEW would put Page in the tournament. Now, his long-term storyline with The Elite continues when he inevitably meets Kenny Omega and The Bucks at All Out in a showdown AEW diehards will unquestionably lap up.
