9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jun 9)

8. For Everyone

Accompanied by the returning Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes, Joseph P. Ryan formally introduced the newest Cancel Culture member as Jake Crist became Jacob Crist. The former 'Golden Draw' was victorious in his first bout under the group's banner, pinning Crazzy Steve in convincing fashion.

Being deemed an entirely new person by Ryan, the Crist brother used every strike in his arsenal to put away 'Mentally Unwell Steven'. While Steve was able to mount a small comeback, thanks in part to his high-octane nature in the ring, an interjection at ringside allowed Jacob to kick his head straight off his shoulders, the same move he used to turn on brother Dave. One match into his Cancel Culture career, and Jacob Crist is already on to bigger and better things.

A solid little match that cements Jacob Crist as a much bigger threat than he was before. Having him defeat Crazzy Steve isn't exactly a mammoth victory for the former X Division Champion, but he needed a win full stop. He could have defeated Glenn Gilbertti, and it still would have been important.
