9 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown 1000 (Oct 16)

8. Big Show, Bigger Banter

WWE pulled the trolliest of troll moves last night, having Big Show interfere in The New Day's SmackDown Tag Title defence against Sheamus and Cesaro, before quickly turning heel to cost the babyface the match and their belts. It was calibrated specifically to annoy people who take such things too seriously, which is why it was great.

Anniversary shows are made for tropes and memes, so of course WWE's biggest face/heel flip-flopper lived up to his reputation. He'll probably be babyface again by the end of the month, because we are living through WWE's Banter Era, and none of this silly !*$% matters at all.

Show's union with The Bar is totally random, and doesn't make much sense at the moment, but who knows? Maybe we'll get a moderately not-sh*t trios match with The New Day Out of it.

Or maybe WWE have already forgotten about it.

Take your pick.
